Bubnis has created a unique visual language and his work is known for his use of vibrant colors, shapes, textures, and cartoon-like imagery.

This piece is a reimagining of the piece, "Memo" by the great American Modernist, Stuart Davis. Painted in 1956, Davis 'version features ship masts and wharf structures schematically suggested by intersecting white lines below a white circle that floats in the night sky. This interpretation replaces the ship masts with a stack of white dog heads beneath a moonlit sky.
